Elden Ring Patches Out Spiral Of Death Exploit Which Bricked Healers

Elden Ring players have discovered many ways to smack one another in PVP however one exploit that was discovered on PC was particularly dangerous. It enabled players to lock opponents in an endless death loop that could destroy their save files. It was not ideal! Fortunately, the developer FromSoftware has finally fixed the issue by releasing a small update for the game that was made available earlier in the day.

“Fixed an issue in multiplayer that permitted players to teleport others to the wrong map coordinates,” reads one of the notes included in the mini-1.03.2 patch. Bandai Namco didn’t elaborate on how the bug was fixed and if players who misused it would be banned, or what could happen to players who it was already being used on. The publisher hasn’t responded to a request for comments.

The PSA by an Elden Ring news account warning players of the exploit blew up on Twitter the week of March 18. “There’s an exploit going around on PC that allows hackers to corrupt your save file while you’re infiltrated,” it read. “First they’ll shut down your game, and when you open it back up your character will constantly falling to their death …”

The exploit involved teleporting unsuspecting players to areas that were out of bounds on the map, where they were dead within a couple of seconds. Loading the game back up caused the same issue. It was unclear how the players were doing it or how widespread the issue was, but there were a handful of players affected by the glitch posted videos of their experience on the internet.

They also shared potential workarounds One of them involved pressing Alt and F4 to instantly stop the game, allowing an extra minute after it was restarted for players to open up the map and try to speed-travel outside of the loop. It’s unclear if that worked for everyone affected but it’s possible that today’s patch will help those who’ve been victimized by Elden Ring. Elden Ring “prank.”
